Congratulations to Ida S. Opstad for successfully defending her doctoral thesis and achieving a Ph.D. in Science. The ceremony took place at the Department of Physics and Technology at the UiT – The Arctic University of Norway on the 29th of January 2021.
The evaluation process included both a trial lecture in «high resolution imaging for mechanobiology», and a dissertation defense titled «Bringing optical nanoscopy to life – Super-resolution microscopy of living cells». It was a great opportunity for Ida to explain her outstanding work in the field of live-cell super-resolution optical microscopy.
The jury committee was formed by prof. Bjørn Torger Stokke (Department of Physics, NTNU, Norway), assoc. prof. Marco Fritzsche (Kennedy Institute for Rheumatology, University of Oxford, and Rosalind Franklin Institute, UK), and assoc. prof. Jana Jágerská (Department of Physics and Technology, UiT, Norway).
Ida is the third candidate who obtains the degree of Ph.D. in Science at Ahluwalia’s lab.
