Optical Nanoscopy now available in Sámi language

posted in: News | 0

The Optical Nanoscopy group webpage at UiT is now being translated into Northern Sámi! With this translation we want to reach an even broader audience for our research, and explain concepts within optics in an easily understood manner. We wish to help with developing and strengthening the use of Northern Sámi in new contexts.

The Sami languages are spoken and used by the Sámi indigenous people. Northern Sámi is the most widely used of the Sámi languages, with approximately 25,000 speakers in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. You can access the Sámi language version by clicking on the Sámi flag on any page.

Any questions or suggestions regarding the translation may be addressed to ine.l.jernelv@uit.no
