Assoc. Prof. Nina Lock

Dr. Nina Lock commenced as assistant professor at iNANO, Aarhus University, in April 2014 on a stipend from the Villum Foundation. She obtained her PhD in 2009 from the research group of Prof. Bo B. Iversen at Aarhus University, where she stayed as postdoctoral fellow for two years. During her studies she visited University of California Santa Barbara (Carlsberg) and spent 9 months at University of Sydney (EliteForsk). In 2012, she received a postdoctoral fellowship grant from the Villum Foundation, which she spent in the research group of Prof. Dietmar Stalke at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in Germany. Nina has a strong background in synthesis and characterization of nanoporous materials (including MOFs) from Aarhus, With the aim of entering the field of organic-inorganic hybrid materials, she made an unusual change in research field during her stay in Germany, where she learned metal-organic molecular synthesis. She strives for building up an independent research profile in hybrid materials with heterogeneous and photocatalytic properties. Nina Lock has published 26 peer-reviewed papers in journals including Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Chem. Eur. J., and Chem. Commun.
