The date for the TODOS Annual General Meeting is 18th of November

The second semester is well underway and the TODOS Board has begun planning the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The time and place will be announced shortly. For TODOS to function, represent PhD candidates and plan events it is critical that people are engaged and active in the organization. At the AGM all board positions will be up for election: Board Chair, Vice Board Chair, Chair of Social Affairs, Chair of Academic Affairs, Accountant and one general Board member. If you have participated in our events or want to get involved with TODOS we would like you to think about running for a position at the AGM. Investing time in the TODOS Board work will give you, besides relevant organizational experience, either an extension of your work contract or equivocation of teaching duty hours. If you do not want to stand up for election, you are welcome to only show up and vote. If you have any questions about any of the positions please do not hesitate to contact us at arcticdoc@uit.no.

Where: SV HUM E0101

Sign-up Deadline: 6th of October, 2014

Plagiarism is a serious issue in academia and something we should all aim to avoid. There are countless examples of researchers being caught plagiarizing someone else’s work, both intentionally and unintentionally and in some instances they act directly fraudulent. TODOS have invited Mariann Cesilie Løkse to guide us through some of the pitfalls that may lie before us and give presentation at our breakfast seminar on plagiarism. Mariann is the subject librarian for the arts and literature and the author of the book “Information Literacy: How to find, evaluate and cite sources”.

Please sign up by October 6 by sending an e-mail to arcticdoc@uit.no so that we know how much breakfast to get.

Samarbeidskonferansen UHR og FFA

Tid:                 Mandag 17. november 2014, kl. 09.00-15.45

Sted:               Næringslivets hus, Middelthuns gt. 27, Majorstuen

Ordstyrer:      Kyrre Lekve, assisterende direktør i NIFU
