Det er tid for Tromsø Doktorgradsstudenter (TODOS) julebord, og du er invitert! Julebordet er åpent for alle stipendiater ved UiT/UNN.

Julebordet er en av årets mest populære arrangement og i fjor hadde vi venteliste. Julebordet vil bli holdt på Gründer Cafe og Bar. Vi har lokale for oss selv fra 18:00 – 22:00. Som i fjor: maten står vi for og drikke må dere kjøpe selv. På menyen er det tapas.
Antall deltakere er begrenset og påmelding/registrering er derfor obligatorisk og foregår etter førstemann til mølla prinsippet.

It is time for the annual Tromsø Doctoral Students (TODOS) Christmas party, and you are invited! The Christmas party is open to all PhD Candidates at UiT/UNN.

The Christmas party is one of the most popular events of the year and last year we had a waiting list. The Christmas party will be at Gründer Café and Bar and we will have the place to ourselves from 18:00 – 22:00. Just like last year: the food is on us, the drinks are on you. We have delicious tapas on the menu.
The maximum number of participants is limited, which is why registration is mandatory and on a first come, first served basis.

The Munin Conference is an annual conference on scholarly publishing and communication, primarily revolving around open access, open data and open science. This year’s conference is the tenth Munin Conference and will be held 30 November–1 December 2015 at the University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway.

PhD Movie 2 coming to UiT this fall!
We are happy to announce that TODOS has acquired screening rights for Piled Higher and Deeper: Still in Grad School, the second movie adaptation of the popular PhD Comics. We will be organizing a free event for all PhD candidates soon. Thus, Tromsø becomes the northernmost university center to hold an official screening. Stay tuned for details on location, date and time!

Call for applications – Arctic Frontiers Emerging Leaders 2016
When: 20 – 26 January 2016
Application deadline: 15 October 2015
Emerging Leaders will take place from 20 to 26 January 2016. Thirty selected candidates from different countries will participate in a blend of technical, social and cultural events accompanied by mentors from business, politics and academia. The program starts in the city of Bodø, then continues onboard the Norwegian Coastal Express Hurtigruten and ends in Tromsø, “the gateway to the Arctic”.
Emerging Leaders enrolls approximately 30 participants, under the age of 35, both Norwegians and internationals, with a blend of Ph.D. students/post docs and young professionals from the public and business sectors. The program fee is NOK 30 000 plus VAT per participant. Ph.D. students/post docs affiliated with Norwegian university colleges, universities and research institutes may apply for a grant from the Research Council of Norway. Ph.D. students/post docs at research institutions abroad who has a scientific focus relevant for Emerging Leaders 2016 could also be considered. The fee covers:
- Accommodation (hotel accommodation for seven nights, including one night onboard Hurtigruten from Svolvær to Tromsø)
- Food and cultural activities (including RIB trip and Lofotr Viking Museum.)
- Registration fee for the two day policy section at the Arctic Frontiers 2016 conference
The Emerging Leader program is linked to the topic of Arctic Frontiers 2016 “Industry and Environment” and includes the following sessions:
Session 1 Politics and security in the High North
Session 2 Industry and Environment in the Arctic
Session 3 Technology development and transfer within seafood and offshore industries
Session 4 Workshop, preparing a presentation
