Cornelia M. Binde, PhD Candidate

Cornelia is a PhD candidate in the Gas Hydrate and Free Gas Reservoirs research group.
Her current PhD project focuses on sill intrusions and hydrothermal vent complexes (HTVCs) along the Møre and Vøring volcanic margins, and how venting through HTVCs may have affected the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM). Sills and vent structures are investigated using high-resolution 2D and 3D seismic data.
Cornelia holds a BSc. in Geology and a MSc. in Petroleum Geoscience from UiT – The Arctic University of Norway. Her MSc. project focused on gaining a better understanding of the relationship between structural elements and focused fluid flow features along the northern margin of the Loppa High, SW Barents Sea.
