Hariharan Ramachandran, Post Doctoral Fellow
Hariharan Ramachandran is a Post-Doctoral Fellow within the Gas Hydrates and Free Gas Reservoirs research group. Specifically, he is working on the SEAMSTRESS project with Andreia Plaza-Faverola.
His research involves simulating methane seepage at Vestnesa Ridge. Specifically, estimate seepage flux variations under the effect of tectonic movements, hydrate stability, and fracturing. Other research interests include subsurface carbon utilization, risks of gas leakage/seepage, and geothermal energy. Typically, his research combines mathematical models, rock physics, and thermodynamics with field data to explain geological phenomena. Hariharan Ramachandran holds a Ph.D. & MS in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (USA) and a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai (India). His Ph.D. research studied the effect of phase changes on CO2 leakage through faults/fractures.
