Katarzyna Melaniuk, Post Doctoral Researcher

Kasia is a PhD candidate in the Pleistocene to Present: Methane, Ocean Acidification and CO2 research group.
Katarzyna Melaniuk is a marine biologist and micropaleontologist. Her research interests include the ecology of benthic foraminifera and testate amoebae, and multi-proxy analyses of marine sediments to investigate climate changes in the Arctic region.
Her work in CAGE is focused on the effects of methane seepage in the Arctic Ocean on the distribution of benthic foraminifera and isotopic signature in their tests. Katarzyna works as a teacher in the GEO-3122 – Marine Micropaleontology, and a teacher assistant in GEO-3111 – Reconstructing Quaternary Marine Climate and Environments.
Katarzyna received PhD in Geosciences from the University of Tromsø in 2021, and she has professional experience from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (USA), the Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Poland), and the University of Aarhus (Demark).
