Marie Stetzler, PhD Candidate

Marie is a PhD Candidate in the Gas in the Water Column research group.
She investigates the distribution of greenhouse gases in the water column emanating from arctic seepages. Since she joined CAGE in 2020, her project focuses on developing 2D and 3D models of bubble dissolution. These models aim to track and predict both the spatial and temporal evolution of dissolved as well as free gases, to find out how they disseminate in the ocean and whether they escape to the atmosphere.
Marie graduated from the University Pierre et Marie Curie (now Sorbonne University; Paris, France) in Geosciences and holds a MSc degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Perpignan Via Domitia (Perpignan, France), where she specialized in marine geology and began working on gas seepage activity.
