Nikolitsa Alexandropoulou, PhD candidate

Nikolitsa is a PhD candidate in The Role of Ice Ages research group at CAGE.
Her current research focuses on seismic stratigraphy of glacial sediments of the Barents Sea – Svalbard continental margins. The aim is to improve the seismic stratigraphic framework for the glacigenic sediments along continental margin of the Barents Sea and western Svalbard, and reconstruct the former extent, dynamics and chronology of former ice sheets in in the Barents Sea – Svalbard area.
Nikolitsa holds a BSc. in Geology and Geoenvironment from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, a MSc. in Applied Environmental Geology from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (Athens, Greece) and a MSc. in Petroleum Geology and Petroleum Geophysics from the University of Oslo (Oslo, Norway). During her MSc. in Oslo she worked with seismic stratigraphy of the glacial sediments of the Bjørnøya Fan, western Barents Sea margin.
