Vincent is a PhD candidate in the research group Cold-Loving Microbes in a Warming Arctic.
Vincent Carrier holds a M.Sc. in Biology and is a PhD candidate associated to the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics of the UiT The Arctic University of Norway and the Centre for Arctic Gas Hydrates, Environment and Climate (CAGE). He works on Bacteria and Archaea filtering methane from seafloor emissions in the Arctic Ocean, particularly around Svalbard. He aims to describe the microbial distribution and community structure, to identify the key actors, and to study the activity level of these microorganisms from their gene expression using recently developed molecular tools.
