Eirini Apostolopoulou: Trial Lecture and Thesis Defence (1. July 2022)

We are fortunate to be able to head off into the summer with the thesis defence of Eirini Apostolopoulou. Her position is part of a collaborative PhD programme between  The Arctic University of Norway (UIT) and the Università degli Studi di Verona (UniVr)

Eirini will hold a trial lecture entitled “Sources of diachronic change. A case study” at 17.00 on July 1st and defend her thesis “Typological variation in language contact: A phonological analysis of Italiot Greek” thereafter starting at 18.00. 

Both events will be held at the Università degli Studi di Verona. Audience members in Norway or around the world wishing to follow the defence online can do so via the following link.

Eirini has been supervised by Martin Krämer and Birgit Alber (UniBz/UniVr).

The committee consists of professor Alan Sanford Prince (Rutgers University-New Brunswick), professor Ioanna Kappa (University of Crete), professor Stefan Rabanus (UniVr), and professor Peter Svenonius (UIT).
