Welcome to a new term!

CASTLFish is ready to tackle the fall term head-first, with plenty of events and visits planned.

The SALT research group (Syllable Structure: Acquisition, Loss, Typology) has a number of research visitors planned: Gaja Jarosz (UMass Amherst), Rina Kreitman (University of Kent), Chris Golston (CSU Fresno) and Tobias Scheer (Université Côte d’Azur, Nice). Students and others interested are encouraged to get in touch and meet with them during their stay!

On 27-28 October, we are running the conference The Foundations of Extended Projections. The goal of the conference is make progress on understanding the conceptual foundations of extended projections and the “Hierarchy of Projections” (HoP) or “functional sequence” (fseq). We welcome the submission of abstracts for papers and posters! The deadline is 1 September. Invited speakers are: Enoch Aboh (University of Amsterdam), Michael Diercks (Pomona College), Asia Pietraszko (University of Rochester), Gillian Ramchand (University of Tromsø), Peter Svenonius (University of Tromsø), Wei-Tien Dylan Tsai (National Tsing Hua University), Susi Wurmbrand (University of Vienna and Harvard University).
