Awarded only once every two years, a team of researchers has been awarded the Tycho Jæger Prize in Electro-Optics for their work developing chip-based microscopy and nanoscopy at UiT. The prize, worth 100,000 NOK, was awarded at the 2018 Norwegian Electro-Optics Meeting in Henningsvær, Lofoten, and was split between Balpreet Singh Ahluwalia (UiT), Øystein Helle (UiT), Mark Schüttpelz (University of Bielefeld, Germany), and Robin Diekmann (University of Bielefeld, Germany).
