Florian has joined the optics group at UiT as a new postdoc with funding from his Marie Sklowdowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. His project is entitled “Development of Deep-UV Quantitative Microscopy for the Study of Mitochondrial Dysfunction” and will focus on developing label-free imaging using UV excitation, as well as utilizing neural networks to extract additional details from high resolution images.
Previously, Florian was a visiting scholar at UiT to learn on-chip nanoscopy, and had continued his collaborations with us from Cambridge, where he earned his PhD. Our nanoscopy group currently has a success rate of 100% for our previous MSCA-IF awardees to also receive ERC starting grants (n=1, Krishna), so we have high expectations for Florian. Welcome to the lab!
