Haoyi Yao, PhD candidate
Haoyi is a PhD candidate for the research group Methane Seepage History, working on sediment organic geochemistry lipid biomarkers.
She is mainly working in biogeochemistry related to the microbial communities responsible for Anaerobic Oxidation of Methane (AOM) both in modern marine environments and fossil record. She is also using carbon stable isotope of foraminifera as a proxy to infer past methane emission events. At last, she also assists in the acquisition of porewater from sediments and participates in the Stable Isotope Laboratory SIL at the Department of Geosciences.
She joined CAGE as PhD in 2015, prior to this she was a graduate student at Oregon State University.
